Using Your Imagination When Hanging Wall Art

This painting, Meeting of the Minds, was wired to hang vertically but it works horizontally as well
Most owners of a fine art abstract painting takes it home and hangs it in a row with other art. Bottoms and tops lining up. The same way it was shown to them in the shop where they purchased it.

In this photo are 2 series paintings hung how the wire is attached in the back and lined up bottom and top.

But have you tried turning the art upside down or horizontally even if it has a vertical hanging wire. You can change the wire very easily.
You might find you like it best the way the artist intended it but maybe not. And maybe it is time for a change.
Let me show you some examples that I think are more stimulating ways to hang wall art if possible.

In this example, I turned the painting on the right, Meetings in Space 2, upside down and lowered it so the diagonal, orange, vertical lines meet up with each other for a great design flow that your eye automatically travels.

In this example, I am switching the paintings and hanging Meetings in Space, on the right side, upside down and a bit lower then Meetings in Space on the left is hanging again lining up those diagonal lines. I like the way it calls attention to the different larger shapes and colors next to each other.
Think about the way you can turn your abstract art around for a different look. And stay tuned for more tips that help you get the most out of your Art when designing your home or office.
